Scottish Borders Wedding Photographer

For couples who don’t like having their photo taken.

This one's home. I live in Innerleithen, a wee village in the Borders surrounded by rolling hills and pine trees, with my wife Harriet, our son Stanley and Norman the dog. So if you're getting married down this way, you've got a photographer who knows the back roads, the light, and the best quiet spots for a photo away from the crowd.

I've shot weddings at Neidpath Castle above the Tweed in Peebles, out at Cormiston Farm near Biggar, at Wedderlie House, and plenty of barns, farms and gardens in between. The Borders does relaxed, characterful, slightly-off-the-beaten-track weddings better than just about anywhere, which is exactly my sort of thing.

However your day looks, the way I work stays the same. I blend in, I chat to your people, and I catch the real stuff as it happens rather than staging it. You'll barely notice me. The only directing I'll do is twenty relaxed minutes with the two of you after the ceremony, and even then it's mostly just walk, talk, and forget I'm there.

If you want endless posed photos and a photographer running the show, I'm not the one. But if you want a relaxed day, real photos, and someone who'll happily stay till the dance floor's in full swing, give me a shout. I'm just down the road.

“My husband and I are both quite awkward so were a bit worried about how we would be in front of the camera, but Adam made us feel so comfortable that taking the photos ended up being one of my favourite parts of the day.”
