About
Hello — I’m Adam.
I’m originally from England, but I’ve lovingly called Scotland home since 2015 — including seven brilliant years in Leith before I swapped the city for the Scottish Borders.
I’m a bit obsessed with trees, dogs, mountains and skiing. I even spent a few years in the snowy mountain town of Whistler, Canada — skiing all winter, then hiking, camping and lake-hopping all summer.
Photography tipped from a love into a full-blown obsession when my wife Harriet and I bought an 8-seater 1990s Chevy Astro van — “Vinnie” — turned it into a camper, and set off through the Pacific Northwest, the Oregon Coast, the Californian Redwoods and Yosemite, finishing with a bang in Las Vegas. Complete bliss, and a photographer’s paradise.
These days it’s a happy, simple life in the Borders with Harriet, our son Stanley and our dog Norman — still happiest somewhere wild with a camera and decent boots.
On your day, I photograph the real stuff — the nerves, the belly-laughs, the quiet look between you when no one’s watching. No stiff poses, no barking orders, no cheese. And it’s only ever me, so by the speeches you’ll have half-forgotten I’m there — which is exactly when the best photographs happen.
