Edinburgh Wedding Photographer

For couples who don’t like having their photo taken.

I lived in Leith for seven years and still can't keep away, so Edinburgh weddings have a real soft spot with me. It's a brilliant city to get married in. You can say your vows in the City Chambers, wander the Royal Mile in your wedding clothes while folk cheer, grab a coffee, duck down Circus Lane for a couple of quiet photos, and still be back with your people in time for the party.

I've photographed weddings all over the city. The Free Company out in Balerno, Mansfield Traquair, the Royal Botanic Garden, Edinburgh Castle, the Royal College of Physicians, the Biscuit Factory in Leith. Big do's and tiny ones with twenty of your favourite people. They're all my kind of day.

Here's how I work. I blend in like a guest, chat to people, and watch for the real moments rather than stopping the day to stage them. Almost everything I shoot is candid, so you'll barely notice me. When it's time for photos of just the two of you, we'll slip off for twenty minutes, go for a wee wander, and I'll mostly leave you to it.

If you want a photographer who'll line everyone up for two hours of formal shots, I'm honestly not your guy. But if you want incredible photos of a day that felt like yours, and someone who'll stay till the peak of the dancing rather than slipping off after the first dance, we'll get on just fine.

“The positive and calming energy he brought to the day meant the focus stayed on us and our family enjoying the moment. He blended in to the background during the ceremony and celebrations, but stepped up to keep everyone organised and relaxed during the portraits. If you’re at all nervous about having your picture taken (especially in public!), he is very good at making you feel comfortable in front of the camera.”
