Chiara and Andrew's wedding at Cormiston Farm, Biggar

Chiara and Andrew got married at Cormiston Farm, a family-run wedding venue just outside Biggar on the edge of the Scottish Borders. It ticks all my boxes: a traditional Scottish house to get ready in, a rustic barn for dinner and dancing, and an outdoor ceremony spot surrounded by the rolling hills of the Clyde Valley. Their whole wedding was oozing with personality.
A surprise bouquet and a ceremony led by Andrew’s mum
In Luxembourg it’s traditional for the groom to choose the bride’s flowers, so Chiara’s uncle delivered the surprise bouquet just before the ceremony.
Andrew’s mum, Kathleen, who is handily a humanist celebrant, led the most personal of ceremonies, including drinking whisky from the quaich.
Honey schnapps in the Clyde Valley
Afterwards, guests toasted the newlyweds with a shot of Luxembourgish honey schnapps from Chiara’s home village.
I love little touches like this. Bringing your personalities into the day and sharing them with the people who mean the most to you.
Cormiston Farm with a wee bit of Luxembourg in it. Exactly my kind of wedding.
