Pez and Ben's festival wedding at The Den at Four Acre, Cumbria

Pez and Ben got married at The Den at Four Acre, a countryside wedding venue near Carlisle in Cumbria, just over the Scottish border, with a giant teepee and space for a proper festival setup. They called it Gibfest. Camper vans, Bongo’s Bingo, and a dance floor that did not stop. Some weddings just hit different, and this was one of them.
Gibfest: a festival wedding with its own branding
From the moment they got in touch, I knew exactly what they were after. No stiff traditions, no formalities, just a huge party with their favourite people, all in one place.
If you are going to throw a wedding like this, it deserves its own festival branding, so they gave it a name. Gibfest. Signs, flags, crates of beer, and tents everywhere. It was like a mini Glastonbury but built around them.
A Georgian house, a classic car and bridesmaids in rust
Pez started the day getting ready in her old family home, a Georgian house, before jumping into Ben’s dad’s classic car and heading to the venue in absolute style. The sun was out. Bridesmaids in rust and burnt orange, groomsmen in grey with matching ties. Every detail fit together.
A laid-back ceremony at The Den at Four Acre
The ceremony was exactly what you would expect from these two. Laid-back, full of laughter, and no over-the-top traditions.
Bongo’s Bingo and golden hour in the fields
Then the party kicked off. Bongo’s Bingo for the afternoon entertainment, which, if you have ever been, you will know is absolute chaos in the best way.
Then golden hour hit and we walked out through the fields behind the venue for sunset portraits. One of those moments where everything comes together: the light, the setting, and two people completely in the moment.
A dance floor that never emptied
Then it was straight back to the dance floor, and I don’t think it emptied for a second. Drinks flowing, tunes blasting, people bouncing off the walls. Exactly the kind of wedding they wanted, and exactly the kind of wedding I love shooting.
An absolute belter of a day. If you are planning a festival wedding and want someone to come along and soak up the madness while you party, I am all in.
