Peter and Hannah's wedding at Aberdour Church and Teasses Estate, Fife

Peter & Hannah at Teasses Estate, Fife
Peter & Hannah · Teasses Estate, Fife

Peter and Hannah got married at Aberdour Church in Fife and had their reception at Teasses Estate, a private estate near Cupar with a greenhouse, gardens and a permanent marquee. In between, they stopped at the beach. Army uniform and a sword arch at the church, crab pots and fishermen at Pettycur Bay, black tie and a ceilidh at Teasses. Relaxed, and a lot of them.

The oldest church in Scotland, a sword arch and confetti

Aberdour Church claims to be the oldest church in Scotland, and it feels it: small, stone, grounded. Peter was in his army uniform. Hannah was in a clean, modern white dress. After the vows they walked out through a ceremonial sword arch, a nod to Peter’s military background, and straight into the confetti.

Crab pots and a dance on the sand at Pettycur Bay

Before the reception we made a quick stop at Pettycur Bay, the beach on the Fife coast where Peter and Hannah spend their weekends. We walked the harbour wall, had a laugh with the fishermen, picked our way round the crab pots, and the two of them had a dance on the sand.

This is the bit I’d push any couple towards. Not a beach because beaches look nice, but a place that’s already yours. Nobody had to be told what to do there. They just were themselves, in a place that feels like home, and the photos show it.

Drinks in the greenhouse and dinner in the marquee at Teasses Estate

From the beach it was on to Teasses Estate. The estate’s greenhouse, the gardens and the marquee took the drinks reception, the group photos, dinner and the dancing between them, and the staff there are brilliant.

Peter swapped the uniform for black tie. Hannah stayed as she was. After dinner the two of them opened a bottle of champagne together, with a sword, obviously.

Ceilidh chaos with the Cragganmore Ceilidh Band

The Cragganmore Ceilidh Band took over from there and kept the floor full for the rest of the night. The permanent marquee at Teasses means the party can go on late, and it did.

Why Teasses Estate works for a relaxed wedding in Fife

Teasses Estate isn’t your typical wedding venue. It’s relaxed and modern in an old estate setting, the greenhouse and gardens give you room to make the day your own, and the marquee means nobody’s chasing you out at eleven. For photos, there’s more than you’ll get through in a day.

Peter and Hannah, thanks for the beach, the sword and the ceilidh.
